Selena Gomez's shampooing secrets
Selena Gomez doesn’t think it’s gross that she doesn’t wash her hair every day.
While how often you wash your hair is actually dependent on what style it is (curly haired ladies can get away with less washing), some women still choose to shampoo it on a daily basis. Not Selena though, as she's found washing it too often leaves it looking less than A-list.
"I don't wash my hair everyday, which may sound gross, but it's
actually really bad for my hair,” she told America’s Allure
magazine. “Some of my best friends actually can't go more than
maybe two days without washing their hair, and for me, I give my
mom and my dad all the credit, because I have thick hair, so it
gets better the less I wash it.
“By the third day, my hair actually holds pretty well. It just
holds curls better, and it holds product better. It's so strange,
but it actually works. I just use a little dry shampoo, and I tease
it to keep the volume up. Usually by day four is when I have to
absolutely wash it."
As the face of Pantene, it’s no surprise Selena uses a lot of the
hair brand’s products when taming her locks. And it’s not just out
of a sense of loyalty; the 23-year-old really likes how lightweight
Pantene’s hairspray is.
“I can run my fingers through my hair, which when I'm on stage and
running around, that's kind of a big thing for me. I've never been
the person who wants her hair perfectly sculpted all the time. I
love to be able to move it around,” she smiled.
She also uses the hair label’s Argan Oil, slicking it on after a
show has finished and wearing her hair in a bun.
