Scarlett Johansson: 'The Internet isn't for me'

Written by . Published: October 29 2013

Scarlett Johansson tries to steer clear of the Internet because even the occasional check on pictures of herself at red carpet events opens her up to hatred, jealousy and negativity online.

The actress insists the Internet is not for her because her experiences in cyberspace have never been positive.

She tells Malibu magazine, "You never find exactly what you're looking for, so I try to avoid it whenever possible. I don't spend a lot of time on the Internet.

"I have Googled myself before. The curiosity got the better of me... It wasn't like I started trolling the Internet and suddenly had all this self-esteem."

And Johansson admits nowadays she only logs on to the Internet to see what a stylist's work looked like at an event.

She explains, "Mostly it's just to see what I wore to an event, if it photographed well or how the make-up looked or something like that. I never see that stuff otherwise... I think everyone wants to see what they look like."
