Ryan Gosling teaching daughter about revenge
Ryan Gosling is trying to teach his daughter Esmeralda the importance of standing up for herself.
The 35-year-old actor and his girlfriend Eva Mendes surprised fans on Monday (09May16) after it was revealed the actress had given birth in secret to their second child, daughter Amada, on 29 April (16), just weeks after news of her pregnancy broke.
Ryan is currently doing the promotional rounds for his new movie
The Nice Guys, and appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday
(12May16) where he explained the wisdom he is attempting to impart
on his two girls.
"When I was a younger man I had a fantasy of getting into the
graffiti world," Ryan began his story. "I was living downtown, and
I heard that if you tag over someone else's that's how you start a
battle. So I did this for a few months and no one ever bothered to
battle with me because I was so bad at it."
But now a child is trying to start a battle with Esmeralda, and
Ryan is front and center getting involved in the feud.
"Some kid has been erasing her name and writing their name over it.
So now I'm in a proper tagging battle," the actor excitedly said.
"And this kid has access to an unfair amount of chalk."
However, his 20-month-old has less enthusiasm for the battle than
her father.
"I'm trying to explain to my little girl that this is
(unacceptable)," Ryan laughed. "She doesn't care. She's like, 'Well
let's just chalk anywhere else,' and I'm like, 'No, no. They're
disrespecting your mother. Because, she gave you this name and
they're erasing it.' So the only way to really get back at them is
to erase their name. And not disrespect their mother, but
definitely put her on notice. Because I think she's the chalk
supplier."
As he appeared on the show, Ryan also teased the audience that he
had a picture of baby Amada he'd like to share with them. But when
the snap appeared on the screen behind him, it was a hilarious
photoshopped shot of a baby with Ellen's head.
