Russell Brand creates vegetable plot
Written by . Published: April 18 2015
Russell Brand has reportedly set up a vegetable patch next to his social cafe in London to help recovering addicts.
In March (15), the actor/comedian launched the non-profit Trew Era cafe on a housing estate in the east of the British capital where residents were under threat of eviction.
Profits from the venture are used to help staff who have issues
finding employment and invest in the local community, and Brand is
now expanding the social enterprise project by finding a plot near
the cafe where recovering addicts can grow their own vegetables,
according to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper.
He is also hoping to create a drop-in help centre in the area to
help former addicts set up businesses.
