Rihanna trespasser released after a day in jail
A man arrested for trespassing outside Rihanna's New York City apartment building last week (ends26May17) was released after spending just one day behind bars.
Salmir Feratovic was taken into custody early on 23 May (17) and booked for criminal trespassing. He appeared before a judge and pleaded guilty to the charge, but was given credit for time served and was released on 24 May (17). Prosecutors had been seeking to jail him for five days.
The 33-year-old was warned against returning to Rihanna's building, but it's not the first time he has showed up in an attempt to reach the Diamonds singer, who owns a penthouse in the Big Apple.
According to TMZ.com, Feratovic was stopped from entering the complex by the building's doorman on two occasions in 2016. Police were called on the second attempt a year ago (May16), resulting in his arrest for the same criminal trespassing charge.
