Rihanna teams with Manolo Blahnik for a second time

Rihanna’s second collection with Manolo Blahnik was inspired by Timberland boots.

The pop superstar first joined forces with celebrity favorite Blahnik in March (16), creating a six-piece shoe collection she called Denim Desserts.

For her second shoe design effort Rihanna has decided on the name Savage, and sought inspiration from the classic Timberland boot.

The three new boot styles hit stores on 16 November, and showcase a range of suede and shearling designs.

It’s easy to see the Timberland influence on boot Fallon, which features a lace up front, a spiked stiletto heel and fluffy detail around the ankle. The boot isn’t too dissimilar from Manolo Blahnik 2002 hip hop Timberland style, which copied the styling of the traditional work boot and was famously worn by Jennifer Lopez in her Jenny from the Block music video.

The second design, the Dominique, is a thigh-high sheepskin-lined boot made of black ponyskin. The outside has a brocade pattern, which was laser cut.

The final boot is the Alexis, another high design, this time sitting on the knee. Coming in two shades of ivory and cinnamon, the soft hues are given an even more feminine touch with fur detailing around the top and all the way down the front.

The three designs are limited edition and will only be available to buy in select Manolo Blahnik stores and online.

Talking about her first capsule collection with the footwear giant earlier this year, Rihanna, who also designs for sports brand Puma, couldn’t hide her excitement.

"The day I see a woman in the street wearing my shoes, I am sorry for that woman because I am going to literally run after her, shouting, 'Stop! Selfie! Who are you? Where did you get them?' I'm going to have a moment!" she smiled in a video for British Vogue.
