Rihanna addresses 777 Tour complaints as plane touches down in New York
Rihanna has apologized to journalists following her around the world on her 777 Tour for locking herself in a 'panic room' on her private jet for most of the week-long trek.
Just before her Delta jet landed in New York for the final stop on the fast-paced seven-day tour on Tuesday (20Nov12), the R&B star sat down with the disgruntled hacks who had made the trip with her to address complaints she didn't make herself available to them.
Rihanna served up champagne and posed for pictures when the 777
Tour took off to Mexico City last week but failed to show for much
of the rest of the trip, locking herself away on flights to
shows.
But after reading journalists' less than enthusiastic comments
about the tour over the weekend (17-18Nov12), the singer staged an
impromptu press conference on Tuesday.
She said, "We made it! This has been an experience I will never
ever forget. I barely slept. My sleeping was all done on this
plane. I want to thank everyone for making this trip the s**t... I
was glad I did this.
"I know you guys got barely any dirt, but I had to be good. I still
sound like s**t. It's impossible to spend time with everybody, and
I'm sorry I didn't. But this was excellent and I would definitely
do it again."
And the Umbrella hitmaker revealed she'd like to tour the world
again with a plane full of journalists and photographers.
She added, "I would do this next time with more people, more cities
and sit back with the fans more... Normally, I'd be back here
popping bottles with y'all (but)... I had to preserve my voice. I
was worried about my body more than partying on the plane, so I had
to just sleep whenever I could. I hope you guys had as much fun as
I did."
