Richie to launch first fragrance

Designer Nicole Richie is set to break into the scent industry by launching her first fragrance.

The socialite already fronts a jewelry collection and successful clothing and accessories lines, and now she's set to create her own perfume with the company TPR.

The product will feature a "cool, classy scent with an edge" and is due to hit stores next year (Sep12).

TPR President Brian Robinson tells Women's Wear Daily, "(Nicole) has a wide breadth of creative talents being an author, a jewelry designer, a fashion designer and an aspirational figure. She also has three million Twitter followers, but more importantly she has trade credibility. She’s done a great job with her image."
