Rapper Tyga blasts labelmates Drake and Nicki Minaj
Rapper Tyga has further fuelled reports of a rift with his Young Money Entertainment labelmates after blasting Drake as a "fake" and insisting he does not "get along" with Nicki Minaj.
The hip-hop stars are all signed to Lil Wayne's Young Money record label and have collaborated on numerous tracks in recent years, but Tyga claims it wasn't his choice to work with Drake and Minaj.
He tells Vibe magazine, "I don't really get along with Drake. I
don't really get along with Nicki. I don't like Drake as a person.
He's just fake to me. I like his music; you know what I'm saying? I
think his music is good, but we're all different people. We were
forced together and it was kinda (sic) like we were forcing
relationships together. It is what it is."
Tyga's comments emerge days after he fired off a series of angry
Twitter.com posts, complaining about a delay in the release of his
upcoming release, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty, which is scheduled
to hit retailers next month (Nov14).
He wrote, "Gold album been done. my label holding me hostage so i
can't release nothing. might just leak it for my fans then let them
make $ (money) off it (sic)."
Tyga went on to suggest he was on the verge of leaving Young Money
after a fan asked if he was still a part of the firm's roster, to
which he responded, "not for long".
Lil Wayne has yet to comment on Tyga's complaints.
