Rachelle Lefevre honoured the memory of the 19 firefighters killed in Arizona over the weekend (29-30Jun13) by making a donation to charity after an episode of her new TV show depicted a devastating blaze.

The Twilight star appears in new sci-fi drama Under The Dome, based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King, and the second episode of the series depicted scenes of a deadly house fire.

The installment aired on Monday night (01Jul13), just a day after a group of emergency workers were killed tackling a wildfire close to the town of Yarnell in central Arizona, so Lefevre has decided to honour their memory by making a donation to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation.

In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "4 (for) Arizona's lost firefighters & due 2 (to the) theme of tonight's Under The Dome I'm donating 2 (to the) Wildland Firefighter Foundation."

Lefevre posted a link to the charity's website on her Twitter page and encouraged others to follow her lead, while fellow actress Olivia Wilde is helping raise donations for another good cause, the National Fallen Firefighter's Fund.

Pop stars the Jonas Brothers are also backing a fundraising campaign set up in the aftermath of the tragedy - they are urging their fans to support the Help Yarnell drive which has been organised by radio stations across the country to raise money for the victims of the wildfire.
