Rachel Weisz considered changing difficult last name
Actress Rachel Weisz considered changing her last name when she first started acting because so many people mispronounced it.
The Oz the Great and Powerful star wanted to change the spelling of her surname to how it is pronounced - Vice - but her agent ruled against it because he felt it was too risque.
"My agent said it seemed like a porn star name, so he didn't let me
do it," she told late night host Jimmy Fallon, "but I actually
think I would have had a much better career had I had that name. I
feel that deep in my heart."
"(I did use) Kenya Campbell once," she continued. "It was an homage
to an English actor that passed away. His name was Ken Campbell,
who I loved very much. So I was Kenya Campbell for a TV show that I
didn't want to have my name on, because it was a really c**ppy TV
show."
