Prosecutors not filing murder charges against Ricardo Medina, Jr.
Los Angeles prosecutors have declined to press charges against former Power Rangers star Ricardo Medina, Jr. after he was arrested for allegedly killing his roommate on Saturday (31Jan15).
The actor, who portrayed the Red Ranger on TV series Power Rangers Wild Force, was taken into custody in Palmdale, California on suspicion of murder after stabbing Joshua Sutter with a sword.
Police investigators discovered the pair had become embroiled in a
heated argument, which ended in Sutter's death after he forced open
the door of Medina's bedroom.
Officials at the Los Angeles County district attorney's office
announced on Tuesday (03Feb15) that prosecutors have decided
against filing charges against Medina, Jr., although they have
asked sheriff's investigators to look into the matter further.
The news emerges a day after the actor's agent, Gar Lester,
insisted Medina is a "sweet soul" who likely acted in
self-defense.
