Paul Walker's devastated father has revealed the actor was considering taking a break from Hollywood so he could spend more time with his family.

The Fast and the Furious star died on Saturday (30Nov13) at the age of 40 after he was involved in a horrifying car crash in California, leaving behind his parents, siblings and a teenage daughter, Meadow.

Walker's father, Paul Walker, Sr., has now spoken out for the first time since the actor's death, revealing the Hollywood star had been hoping to take a break from Hollywood for the sake of his 15-year-old girl.

He tells CBS Los Angeles, "(He told me) I want to take a hiatus, she's just 15 and I don't have much more time to be with her and then boom, he got another movie. He would say, 'I don't know what to do.'"

Walker, Sr. also spoke of his pride in his son's achievements, adding, "I'm just ... glad, that every time I saw him, I told him I loved him. And he would say the same thing to me... His heart was so big... I was proud of him every day of his life... His brothers are all taking it pretty hard."
