Paul Iacono opens up about his sexuality
Actor Paul Iacono is glad he decided to 'come out' as gay in a recent magazine interview because he feels as if "a weight has been lifted" since opening up about his sexuality.
The Hard Times Of RJ Berger star made the revelation in a candid chat with The Village Voice, admitting he is attracted to girls, but "just attracted to guys much more".
Iacono reveals he felt compelled to make the announcement to help
younger fans struggling with their own sexuality, and he is glad he
chose to be honest with the public.
He tells MTV News, "I feel really good. I feel like a weight has
been lifted that I didn't know was there. I've been out with my
friends and family for five years, but coming out in a public forum
like that is inspiring to myself and hopefully to other people.
"I think at the moment, we need to have gay pride, because there
are so many people who don't feel as comfortable as I do. And it's
taken me a very long time to get to be comfortable about it, but
it's our duty to the community to step forward and be vocal. I'm
gay, it's cool."
