One Direction team with Little Mix for small London show
One Direction swapped huge arenas for a more intimate setting at a small show in London with fellow pop stars Little Mix on Tuesday night (22Sep15).
The boyband has been selling out large venues across the world on the On The Road Again Tour, but they returned to the British capital to play a scaled down set at the Roundhouse venue as part of the Apple Music Festival.
Fellow pop band Little Mix opened the show, reuniting Perrie
Edwards with her former fiance Zayn Malik's ex-bandmates. The
former couple confirmed its split in August (15), just months after
Malik walked off the boyband's tour and quit the group to go
solo.
After One Direction took to the stage, they played a scaled down
set featuring hits including Steal My Girl, What Makes You
Beautiful, and Story of My Life.
Harry Styles' sister was in the audience and the singer played the
protective brother as he revealed she was on a date, saying, "I
apologise if I seem a little bit distracted. My sister is on a date
- behave yourself... I'm trying to keep an eye on her," while Liam
Payne added, "We are all watching you."
During the show, the band also led the crowd in a rendition of
Happy Birthday in honour of an audience member named Chloe after
Styles spotted a banner declaring it to be her big day.
They closed the hour-long concert with Best Song Ever, and as they
left the stage, Payne told the crowd, "Thank you so much for having
us. We love you guys."
The Apple Music Festival has also featured performances by acts
including Carrie Underwood and Ellie Goulding, while Pharrell
Williams, Florence + The Machine and Mumford & Sons are all set to
play in the coming days.
