Nicki Minaj slams ex-boyfriend over alleged legal threat
Nicki Minaj has slammed her ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels for allegedly suing her for emotional and physical abuse.
The former lovers split in 2014 after 12 years together and have since had a number of acrimonious public exchanges.
Now the female rapper, 33, claims she was served with a lawsuit by
representatives for Safaree, 34, on Monday (09May16) after
celebrating her current boyfriend Meek Mill's birthday.
"Tweeted on the 5th that the 6th was my baby's bday (sic).
Celebrated on the 6th for his bday (publicly). Served w/a lawsuit
on the 9th," she writes on Twitter, adding, "Two years later this
poor excuse of a man (Safaree) is suing me & claiming to have been
physically & emotionally abused. Lol (laugh out loud). He's so
miserable."
Nicki went on to allege that Meek, 29, had asked Safaree to stop
continuously emailing the singer.
"My man asked him to stop emailing me," she writes. "I also asked
him several times. This man can't move on. It's really sad. I have
the emails to prove it," adding, "(Safaree was) Calling my mother
crying. I said I'd help. But as soon as meek asked him to stop
emailing me it's a problem. LEAVE US ALONE!!!!!! PLEASE!!!."
The musician also claimed that while she and Safaree were together
she caught him stealing money from her but did not involve the
police, writing, "Caught him stealing money and never prosecuted
him!!!! Now I'm DOING IT. ENOUGH!!!!!!"
The new spat is just the latest in a long line of arguments between
the former couple that have played out on social media.
Months after their split in 2014, Nicki and Safaree engaged in a
bitter war of words on Twitter, while last year (15), she reacted
angrily to the release of Safaree's track Love the Most, the lyrics
of which contained apparent references to their relationship.
