Nicki Minaj's brother charged with rape

Nicki Minaj's brother has been released on bail after he was charged with rape.

On Thursday (03Dec15), Jelani Maraj, 37, from Baldwin, New York was charged with first-degree rape and first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, according to Newsday.com.

He was arraigned at a court in Nassau, New York and freed from Nassau County jail on $100,000 bail.

Jelani Maraj hit headlines earlier this year (15) when his famous sister paid for his wedding. The rapper reportedly splashed out around $30,000 on the ceremony, which took place in Baldwin, New York in August (15).

He married his partner Jacqueline Robinson, and his sister shared her delight by documenting the nuptials in a series of posts on Instagram.com, writing, "I would cross the ocean for u (sic)... I love my brother so much man. Can't believe I cried during his wedding and his first dance like a punk. May God bless him and his union. Tonight has been one of my favorite nights of all time. I do anything to see my brothers smile (sic)."
