Nicki Minaj and John Mayer flirt on Twitter

Nicki Minaj and John Mayer had a flirty conversation on Twitter in the early hours of Saturday morning (09Sep17).

The Gravity singer cheekily asked his one million Twitter followers if they thought the No Frauds rapper would like him.

"I spend an inordinate amount of time per day wondering if Nicki Minaj would like me or not," he tweeted suggestively about the star.

With the words out there and news traveling fast across social media, Nicki couldn't resist responding to the 39-year-old singer, who has previously dated Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, and Katy Perry, and within 30 minutes of John posing the question, Nicki replied with her own flirty response.

"Would my body be your wonderland? Asking for a friend," she wrote, referring to his 2001 track Your Body Is a Wonderland, which he reportedly wrote as a tribute to another ex, Jennifer Love Hewitt.

"Please hold, losing my s**t," he replied. "This isn't my reply yet."

As to whether the flirty couple then took to private messaging to further the conversation is anyone's guess as Nicki and John have since gone quiet online.

This is not the first time John has used social media to boost his dating life - in August (17) he set his sights on actress and comedienne Erin Foster.

When her father, Canadian musician David Foster posted a snap of himself and his daughter dining out on Instagram - on her 35th birthday - Mayer seized the opportunity to get an introduction.

"Can you put a good word in for me?" he wrote on David's account.

It is not known if Erin picked up on his message as neither the actress nor her father publicly responded to his comment.
