Nick Gordon checks into rehab - report

Bobbi Kristina Brown's boyfriend Nick Gordon has reportedly checked himself into rehab after openly discussing suicide during an emotional TV taping with self-help guru Dr. Phil Mcgraw.

Reports earlier this week (begs02Mar15) suggested Gordon would be opening up to Dr. Phil about the events that led up to Brown's near-drowning incident in January (15) and her ongoing hospitalization, but it has since emerged Gordon's mother, Michelle, organized the get together as an intervention after becoming concerned about his drink and drug abuse as he battles depression.

The meeting took place in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday (05Mar15), when Gordon, who has been fighting with his girlfriend's father Bobby Brown and members of her family, who have refused to let him visit her in the hospital, allegedly ranted about ending his own life if Whitney Houston's only child did not wake up from her coma.

In a snippet from the episode, which will air next Wednesday (11Mar15), Michelle reveals her son was still struggling with the loss of Houston, who informally adopted Gordon when he was younger, when Bobbi Kristina's health emergency occurred under similar circumstances.

In the promo, Michelle tells Dr. Phil, "As we sit here right now, my son's life hangs in the balance. When Whitney was found, he administered CPR to her and called me as he was standing in front of her saying, 'Mom, why couldn't I do it? I couldn't get air into her lungs.' He won't let go of the guilt."

According to TMZ.com, Gordon sought professional help following the Dr. Phil intervention, although no further details about his rehab stint were available as WENN went to press.

Houston drowned in a Beverly Hills hotel suite bathroom on 11 February, 2012. Her death was drug-related.
