Model injured in Chris Brown awards party shooting suing club owners
A model who was shot during a star-studded Los Angeles party hosted by R&B singer Chris Brown last year (14) has hit club owners with a lawsuit over inadequate security measures.
Megan Hawkins was one of the attendees of a pre-MTV Video Music Awards bash at the 1OAK nightclub in August, 2014, when shots rang out inside the venue.
Rap mogul Marion 'Suge' Knight sustained six gunshot wounds in the
stomach, chest and arm and Hawkins was reportedly shot in the
backside.
In new legal documents obtained by TMZ.com, she claims 1OAK bosses
should have provided better security measures to protect
partygoers, citing Brown and Knight's alleged "gang ties" should
have been taken into account.
Hawkins claims she was seriously injured and missed work
opportunities. She's also demanding compensation for her multiple
medical bills and the pain and suffering.
Hawkins is suing for an unspecified amount in damages.
