Miley Cyrus and Emma Roberts honour CNN heroes

Miley Cyrus, Chris Colfer and Emma Roberts were among the stars who turned the spotlight on unsung heroes who have made a difference in their communities at a special gala on Sunday (11Dec11).

Inspiring honourees from across the globe were celebrated for their goodwill efforts at the CNN Heroes event as they were brought on stage at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles to receive awards from celebrities including Jerry Seinfeld, Sofia Vergara and will.i.am.

Robin Lim was named Hero Of The Year for her nonprofit organisation Bumi Sehat Foundation, which offers medical assistance to pregnant low-income women in Indonesia, and landed a $250,000 grant.

Kid Rock and Cyrus, who presented an award to a group of charitable youngsters, both performed at the event, which was hosted by newsman Anderson Cooper.

The former Hannah Montana star later 'tweeted' to declare, "What a glorious night to be a part of. Thank you for having me on your stage CNN Such an honor."
