Michael Phelps to become a first-time father
Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps is expecting his first child with his fiancee.
The gold medalist and Nicole Johnson became engaged in February (15) and now they're preparing to become parents next year (16).
"We found out 8weeks ago we were expecting...," Michael writes on
Instagram.com. "Today we're over 12 weeks and it looks like we're
having a boy!!!"
The happy news comes a year after Phelps was pulled over for
speeding in Baltimore, Maryland (Oct14), and charged with driving
under the influence, excessive speeding and crossing double
lanes.
He subsequently checked into a rehabilitation facility and was hit
with a six-month suspension from USA Swimming-sanctioned
competitions and given a one-year suspended sentence and 18 months
probation for the DUI count. He is now sober and training to
compete in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
