Little Mix's Leigh-Anne Pinnock left red-faced after interview flub
Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock accidentally outed her bandmate Jade Thirlwall's new relationship during an interview on Tuesday (09Feb16).
Earlier this week (beg08Feb16), it was reported that Jade is in the early days of a romance with The Struts bassist Jed Elliott. As Little Mix appeared on Good Morning Britain, Leigh-Anne's enthusiasm for the group getting up to some "naughty" antics on their upcoming Get Weird tour saw Jade forced to reveal her relationship status.
Jesy Nelson said: "Perrie (Edwards) turned around to me the other
day and went, 'I'm going to be naughty on this tour!'"
A blushing Perrie was quick to insist Jesy had taken her words the
wrong way, but admitted she is planning to let loose on the road
considering that last time the girls toured she was engaged to
former One Direction singer Zayn Malik.
"On the last tour I'd just get into my bunk, I wouldn't go out, I
wouldn't party or anything and now I'm like, 'Yeah!'" Perrie
smiled.
Leigh-Anne then grabbed the hands of both Perrie and Jade and began
chanting: "Single Geordies (people from Newcastle, UK) alone
together!"
At that point, Jade insisted: "I'm not single!'
Looking incredibly embarrassed, Leigh-Anne shrieked: "Oh my
goodness you aren't! My bad, it's very new, very new here... It's
fresh!"
The four-piece band are set to perform at the upcoming BRIT Awards
on 24 February (16). While the girls are more than a little excited
about being asked to take to the stage, it's their mothers who are
really beside themselves about the prospect.
Revealing they are planning to get "messy" if they win an award at
the event, Jesy added: "We wanted to bring them on the red carpet
with us
They are worse than us!
"They're terrible though. When we were on (UK TV show) The X Factor
they all used to meet up in a pub and get drunk - Leigh-Anne's mum
ended up dancing on the table!"
Perrie added that their mothers have a group chat on mobile
messaging platform WhatsApp, and they have been debating what they
should wear to the prestigious awards.
"You should see our Mammy Mixers group chat on WhatsApp," Perrie
said. "It's the cutest thing ever, they're like, 'What are you
wearing? What are you going to do?'"
The girls also promised they are going "all out" for the BRITs
performance, although they refused to be drawn on details of what
they are planning.
"People won't be expecting what we are doing," Jesy said. "We are
doing one of our songs but we have completely changed it up. It's
full on. We've been in rehearsals and it's gruelling - proper knee
pads and everything.
"Literally when we found out we were performing we all cried
because it is something we have wanted to do since we have been
together. We just feel overwhelmed - it's amazing."
