Lindsay Lohan's representative plays down Islam conversion rumors

A representative for Lindsay Lohan has played down reports the actress is planning to convert to Islam after she was pictured carrying a copy of the Koran.

The Mean Girls star was snapped with the Islamic holy book as she attended a children's center in Brooklyn, New York on Wednesday (13May15).

The pictures sparked rumors Lohan is planning a new religious conversion after previously dabbling in both Kabbalah and Buddhism.

A representative for Lohan has now revealed the actress developed a fascination with Arab culture after spending time in Dubai, but is unlikely to be considering becoming a Muslim.

The spokesperson tells Britain's The Independent newspaper, "To my knowledge she is not considering fully converting to Islam, but I know she has been taking a keen interest in the Arabic culture of late. She also spent some time in Dubai earlier this year and became interested in their way of life."

Lohan previously admitted she is attempting to learn Arabic after posting a mistranslation on her Instagram.com page.
