Lindsay Lohan granted restraining order
Actress Lindsay Lohan has won a restraining order against an obsessed fan whose behavior made the star feel "unsafe" and "nervous".
Last month (May15), British prosecutors dropped stalking charges against 37-year-old Daniel Voderwulbecke after Lohan could not testify at a London hearing as she was completing a community service order in the U.S.
Voderwulbecke was found guilty of harassment and two counts of
criminal damage at a hearing at London's Westminster Magistrates
Court on Friday (26Jun15), and was slapped with a 12-week prison
sentence, which was suspended for 18 months.
He was also ordered to undergo mental health treatment for 12
months stemming from his harassment of Lauren Pearce, the
reservations manager at Lohan's London haunt, the Chiltern
Firehouse restaurant.
Voderwulbecke is now banned from indirectly or directly contacting
Lohan and cannot come within 100 meters (328 feet) of her. He is
also barred from contacting any workers at Chiltern Firehouse or
coming within 100 meters (328 feet) of the eaterie.
A written statement from Lohan, which was read out in court,
stated, "I feel very unsafe because of his threatening behavior. I
have become nervous and am continually looking over my shoulder to
make sure I am not being followed."
District Judge Tan Ikram added, "These offenses are particularly
serious not just because of their nature but also their
frequency... It is accepted by all that your actions were motivated
by what can only be described as an obsession with Lindsay
Lohan."
