Lil Wayne to keep seized artwork
Rapper Lil Wayne can keep the multi-million dollar art collection seized from his mansion earlier this month (Nov15) as he pays back an outstanding private jet settlement.
The Lollipop star was ordered to settle a $1 million bill with bosses of Signature Group, a company that leases jets to stars, in September (15) for failing to make any payments during the first two years of a three-year contract.
The rapper, real name Dwayne Carter, Jr., did not hand over the sum
and the figure inflated to $1.8 million, with an extra $200,000 in
legal fees.
At the start of November (15), officials in Florida obtained a
warrant to raid his Miami home and seize belongings, including
expensive pieces from his art collection.
The rapper will now be able to keep the artwork as he is paying
back the settlement with the help of a $1.5 million loan, according
to TMZ.com. Documents obtained by website editors show he has put
up his private skate park in Miami as collateral.
