Leighton Meester gets swabbed for bone marrow campaign

Leighton Meester registered as a potential bone marrow donor on Tuesday (03Apr12) to encourage fans to sign up for the life-saving initiative.

The Gossip Girl star is backing the latest campaign from DKMS Americas, the world's largest bone marrow donor centre, and she was swabbed in New York to show her support for the scheme.

She says, "You can register as a donor by going to GetSwabbed.org. It's easy and the more people get swabbed and are willing to donate, the more lives we can save and that's pretty incredible."
