Kim Kardashian: 'North hates it when I breastfeed Saint'
Reality star Kim Kardashian has revealed the trials and tribulations of breastfeeding, confessing daughter North West hates it when she nurses her baby brother, Saint.
The 36-year-old welcomed her little boy with husband Kanye West in December (15), and while she has gotten back into the swing of breastfeeding, two-year-old North is still adjusting to the new addition to the family and his needs.
"I'm about two months into breastfeeding and I'm not gonna lie - it
can be time-consuming," Kim began in a post on her website on
Tuesday (26Jan16). "For some reason, North hates when I feed the
baby, and she lays on my lap so Saint can't be right in front of me
to eat, LOL (laugh out loud)!"
However, the mother-of-two has found a clever way to get around her
daughter's jealousy, by making sure she feels involved in caring
for her baby brother.
"I've started to include her: Sometimes I will pump and have her
feed him the bottle, that totally worked!" she continued. "She
loved helping me, as opposed to my attention being off of her, and
now she is my little helper."
While Kim had a difficult pregnancy with both children, suffering
from the potentially life-threatening condition placenta accreta
throughout both terms, breastfeeding has proved to be
drama-free.
"I feel super lucky that breastfeeding is easy for me and I produce
a lot of milk - so much that I've taken over my mom's freezer with
tons of milk!" she added, before wading into the ongoing debate
about breastfeeding in public.
"I know some people find breastfeeding such a private, personal
experience, while other people are very open and even breastfeed in
public," she wrote. "Now that I'm a mom, I say whatever makes you
comfortable goes. I still personally wouldn't breastfeed at a
restaurant with a bunch of people I didn't know staring at me. I
would, however, breastfeed in front of my girlfriends. I think it's
such a natural experience and I'm not shy about that."
