Kelly Clarkson is engaged

Pop star Kelly Clarkson received an early Christmas present when her boyfriend proposed on Friday (14Dec12).

The Since U Been Gone hitmaker, who began dating talent manager Brandon Blackstock earlier this year (12), took to her Twitter.com page on Saturday (15Dec12) to share the happy news.

She tweeted, "I'M ENGAGED!!!!! I wanted y'all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever."

The singer also shared a photo of her sparkling new ring, adding, "Everyone has been asking about my engagement ring, so here it is... It's a yellow canary diamond with diamonds around it and Brandon designed it with (jewelry designer) Johnathon Arndt! They did an amazing job! I can't wait to make Brandon's ring with Johnathon as well!"

Just last month (Nov12), Clarkson admitted she was thrilled to be spending her first Christmas with Blackstock, the stepson of country singer Reba McEntire.

She said, "You know what - and this is going to sound like I'm making a joke, but it is so not. It is serious. I am not alone for the first time for Thanksgiving and Christmas and I am very happy. I've been praying for so long and he's so great."
