Justin Bieber celebrates freedom a year after jail
Justin Bieber is celebrating his freedom a year after he found himself in a jail cell following his arrest in Florida.
The 21-year-old pop star was detained by cops in Miami Beach in January, 2014 after he was caught taking part in a suspected drag race and he spent a night behind bars before being freed on bail.
He later pleaded guilty to charges of careless driving and
resisting arrest and was sentenced to anger management counselling
and ordered to hand over a series of fines.
Bieber marked a year since his brief spell in jail during an
interview with Men's Health magazine, and the Baby singer insisted
he is now a changed man.
He tells the publication, "This has really been a big year for me,
as far as figuring stuff out. This is almost like a full 180 from
how I was. Yesterday - a year from yesterday - I was in jail. I had
to grow up so quick... You feel like you wanna grow up and you
gotta prove yourself. Hey, man, you don't need to prove yourself. I
didn't know that, though. It's good to really take a step back and
be appreciative and understand that life brought me to an
incredible place."
Bieber is on the verge of making a music comeback after years of
troubles, which also included a vandalism conviction for throwing
eggs at a neighbour's house, a number of nightclub brawls, and an
embarrassing video which showed the star urinating into a mop
bucket in the kitchen of a New York restaurant.
