JoJo wants to stay single for 2016
Pop star Jojo is determined to maintain her single status for much of 2016 after spending her youth jumping from one relationship to another.
The Leave (Get Out) singer admits she has always been a sucker for love, but she recently found herself without a man for the first time in years.
"I've been a serial monogamist," she confessed on late night show
Kocktails with Khloe. "I've had, like, two-year relationships,
one-and-a-half year relationships. I love love, I might be addicted
to it!"
However, JoJo insists she is happy to live the single life for the
rest of 2016, so she can focus on her own personal growth.
"I said, 'I wanna do this (stay single) for a year'," she
continued. "I just turned 25, I just wanna do it. I have to learn
about myself. I've learned a lot through compromising with a
partner and things like that, but it's all about (me now)."
During the candid conversation with reality TV star-turned-talk
show host Khloe Kardashian, JoJo also revealed she once tried
having an open relationship, but it failed miserably.
"I was in an open relationship, and then we closed the
relationship, but he didn't!" she laughed. "And then in this guilty
moment, he came to me and was like, 'I've been dishonest with you,
blah blah blah', and then I kind of faulted myself (because) they
say the way you start a relationship (is how it goes on)."
The failed romance proved to be a learning curve for the former
child star as JoJo realized, "I'm not cut out for this."
The singer wasn't the only one to open up about her dating
disasters. Kim Kardashian's little sister also recently revealed
her last relationship, with basketball star James Harden, fell
apart after he cheated on her.
"He sought me out, he wanted to be committed... then wasn't
committed," the 31-year-old explained during a recent taping of
Kocktails with Khloe.
