Jiah Khan's boyfriend to remain in jail until next hearing

The boyfriend of tragic Bollywood actress Jiah Khan has been ordered to remain behind bars after his bail hearing was adjourned until next week (21Jun13).

Aspiring actor Sooraj Pancholi, the son of Indian stars Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, was arrested on Monday (10Jun13) amid allegations he played a part in driving Khan to suicide on 3 June (13).

The claims relate to a six-page letter Khan's mother found at her daughter's Mumbai home containing accusations of abuse and infidelity, including suggestions she was forced to have an abortion against her will.

Pancholi was remanded in custody during his first court appearance on Tuesday (11Jun13), but his jail stay has now been extended after a judge adjourned his bail hearing on Friday (14Jun13) until 21 June (13), reports Reuters.

Official charges have yet to be filed against Pancholi, but he is being held on suspicion of abetting Khan's suicide, which could land him up to 10 years behind bars.
