Jennifer Lopez laughs at mum's red carpet disaster at royal event

Jennifer Lopez will never forget the time she met British royals Prince William and Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge at a special event in Los Angeles because her mother tripped up on the red carpet - and it was all caught on camera.

The singing superstar took Guadalupe along to the British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA) party last summer (11), and dressed her up in an expensive gown and designer high heels by Christian Louboutin.

But Lopez quickly regretted forcing her mother to totter along in stilettos - because she ended up falling flat on her face in front of the world's paparazzi.

Recalling the horror of the event, Lopez tells talk show host Katie Couric, "I go to do my thing, I'm taking pictures on the red carpet and all of a sudden she's walking and then she just... trips on the red carpet in front of thousands of people! I'm like, 'Oh my god, are you OK?' They (the paparazzi) took so many pictures, they're filming as well..."

Luckily, Guadalupe wasn't injured and she simply laughed off the mishap moments after her red carpet disaster.

The On the Floor hitmaker says, "At first I was worried, of course. I was like, 'Mum, are you OK?' and then I was like, 'You gotta get up!' She got up and then started laughing hysterically."

And the Lopez family has been giggling about the incident ever since - thanks to the media's video footage of the fall, which was quickly posted online: "It's so funny, we laughed so much the next day."
