Jennifer Lawrence may play Robert De Niro's mother in next film

Filmmaker David O. Russell is developing a movie in which Jennifer Lawrence will play Robert De Niro's mother.

The Hunger Games star has teamed up with the veteran actor for American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook and new film Joy, in which De Niro plays her father, and now Russell is hoping to switch their roles in a new project.

"David is making something right now and the plan, so far, is for me to play Bob De Niro's mother," she told talk show Live! with Kelly and Michael. "I think that the more people give him c**p about me being too young for his parts, he's like, 'Oh yeah, watch this,' so we'll see."

Lawrence did not reveal the details surrounding the new film, but if the movie comes to fruition it will be her fourth project with the filmmaker.
