Jennifer Connelly barely conversed with director husband on set

Jennifer Connelly barely talked to her husband Paul Bettany during filming of his directorial debut Shelter, because he was constantly in demand on set.

The Wimbledon star has stepped behind the camera for his first foray into filmmaking, and he hired his Oscar-winning wife to play the lead.

Upon signing up for the role, Connelly harbored desires to discuss the project at length with her partner, but the reality was much different.

She tells DuJour magazine, "It was kind of strange, going to work in the morning with the director. I had this fantasy that we'd talk about scenes all day.

"In reality, if the man sat down, there was a line of people wanting to talk to him. Since we moved so quickly, I think he felt his wife was the least of his worries."

However, Connelly insists she was not fazed by the lack of time she spent with the Brit on set: "We've been married for 11 years. We have kids together, so I feel confident in our ability to navigate situations."
