Javier Bardem had computer lessons for Skyfall

Actor Javier Bardem was given lessons in the latest technology for his villainous role in Skyfall as he is hopeless with computers, insisting he prefers handwritten letters to emails.

The Spanish star plays cyber-terrorist Raoul Silva in the latest installment of the 007 franchise, but unlike his modern character, Bardem admits he has yet to fully embrace gadgetry.

He tells U.K. talk show Lorraine, "Actually, one of the (central) things of my character is computers and they had to explain to me a lot about it because for me just to write an email is like I'm doing rocket science or something like that. No, I'm so not into that. Which I don't think is good - I think life goes very fast so you have to really get on with it.

"I do (write letters), not as much as I used to, but I do, yeah. I think it's one of the things that you miss the most, no? Handwriting things (to) people, especially on special occasions."
