Hilary Duff defends kissing young son on lips

Hilary Duff has fired back at her critics after being slammed for kissing her young son on the lips.

The actress and singer posted a photo Monday (12Dec16) of her giving her son four-year-old Luca, who she shares with ex-husband Mike Comrie, a peck at Disneyland in front of the It's A Small World attraction.

Though the photo in question received more than 230,000 Instagram likes by the next day, many users spat out their disgust with comments such as, "You should not kiss your son like that. There's other ways to show love but not that one. It's confusing for him, it's not healthy."

Hilary has now fired back at haters who commented on the photo with a blunt message.

"For anyone commenting that a kiss on the lips with my four year old is 'inappropriate' go ahead and click unfollow with your warped minds and judgment," she wrote in a message posted on Instagram on Tuesday.

It seems some of the harsher comments were deleted in the hours after Hilary, 29, posted the photo, but messages coming to her defense about how there's nothing wrong with the photo remained on her page.

This isn't the first time this year that the former Disney Channel star has courted criticism; in October she was prompted to apologize for her Halloween costume, which featured the actress as a pilgrim and her then-boyfriend, trainer Jason Walsh, as a Native American, decorated with a headdress and face paint.
