Harry Potter extra fired over prop dispute
An extra working on the new Harry Potter spin-off film has been fired for allegedly taking a prop from the set and trying to sell it on an Internet auction site.
Film bosses behind Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, starring Eddie Redmayne and Colin Farrell, threatened to call in the police after they discovered a prop menu from a dinner scene had been listed on eBay.com.
The unnamed extra, who worked on the set in Liverpool, England,
admitted taking the item without permission, and later returned the
prop, but was reportedly fired from the film.
"They (film bosses) contacted eBay and convinced them they were
helping sell stolen goods. eBay agreed to removed the item," a
source tells Britain's The Sun newspaper.
The spin-off, which is set 70 years before the events of Harry
Potter, is set for release in November, 2016.
