Halle Berry: 'I'm not at all ashamed of my children'
Halle Berry has slammed an Instagram troll who accused her of being ashamed of her children.
The 50-year-old actress posted a family picture alongside eight-year-old daughter Nahla and three-year-old son Maceo on the photo-sharing site, with the snap cropped so as to not show her offspring's faces.
After putting the picture on her profile, Halle was forced to
respond to a critic who questioned her decision to blur out the
children's faces.
"I've noticed you have said this several times now, so let me be
clear -- I'm not at all ashamed of my children," the Extant star
wrote. "I try to find creative ways to incorporate them into my
feed because they are the biggest part of my life, but I also work
very hard to keep their identities as private as I can considering
they are only children."
Halle continued to insist in her post that when her children are
old enough, it will be up to them to decide whether or not they
want to share pictures of themselves on social media.
"It's my belief, and I’m not criticizing others who have different
beliefs, that it's my job as their mother to protect their privacy
as best I can," she added.
"When they grow and they're of age and they want (to) share their
images on the Internet, that will be for them to decide, not me.
Feel me? Have a beautiful day."
Following Halle's response, several of her diehard fans hit out at
the troll, who then took it upon herself to answer the actress in
her own reply.
"@halleberry doesn't think badly of me or she would've blocked me
and I wasn't being negative in the comments, just stating my
opinion and she stated hers which I respect and have always
respected," she wrote. "I stand by my position I want to see more
of Halle Berry I love her more than any of you out there otherwise
you wouldn't be satisfied with not seeing a lot of her."
