George Clooney is the world's most handsome man
George Clooney is the world's most handsome man, according to science.
The new dad's features have hit the jackpot on the Greek Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi, which is considered the ancient secret formula of perfection.
The 56-year-old scored 91.86 per cent, based on the contours and shape of his face, nose, eyes, brows, lips and cheeks, to narrowly beat Bradley Cooper (91.8 per cent) and old pal Brad Pitt (90.5 per cent).
Using the theory, computer mapping technology experts also found Ryan Gosling had the perfect nose, Harry Styles the most beautiful eyes and the best chin, and David Beckham had the most perfectly shaped face.
But Clooney has the whole package, scoring high for all the right stuff - his eyes, nose, lips, chin, jaw and overall facial shape comes closest to the ancient Greeks' idea of perfection, according to top British surgeon Dr. Julian De Silva, who calculated the new list by measuring the three sections of the face.
According to Greek lore, the length of the forehead, from hairline to the top of the nose, the nose, and the space between the bottom of the nose to the chin should all be of equal length to score a perfect 100 per cent.
Dr. De Silva, who runs The center For Advanced Facial Cosmetic And Plastic Surgery in London, tells the MailOnline, "George Clooney has been feted as the world's most beautiful man for decades - and it is great that his status has now been proved by science.
"George had a near perfect ratio of nose to lip dimension of 99.6 per cent and his chin and eye spacing were almost perfect as well. Across the 12 key markers he had the highest combined score."
