Gallagher to write Bond theme tune?
Former Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher is in talks to be handed the honor of writing the new James Bond theme, according to a U.K. report.
The British musician is reportedly in the running to pen the theme tune for Daniel Craig's upcoming outing in new 007 film Skyfall, and he is set to meet with movie bosses to discuss the project.
A source tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "They're going to talk
about potentially writing and performing the song for next year's
new Bond film. Nothing is signed or official, it's just being
discussed at the moment."
Gallagher previously expressed his interest in performing a song
for the Bond franchise when he commented on his 2008 track Freaky
Teeth, which he performed at gigs but never released.
He said, "I listened back to it thinking, 'That'd make a f**king
great Bond theme'."
And Gallagher would prefer to see a British artist create the next
007 tune after previous Bond tracks were penned by American artists
like Madonna and Jack White.
He added, "It's a bit of a p**s-take that the greatest British
agent of all time has to be soundtracked by a bunch of
Americans."
But Gallagher isn't the only British artist linked to landing the
coveted Bond job - soul star Adele has also been touted for the
Skyfall soundtrack.
