Fantasia Barrino splits from boyfriend

Singer Fantasia Barrino has split from her boyfriend Antwaun Cook.

The former American Idol star recently gave birth to the couple's son Dallas Xavier, but she has parted ways with the toddler's father in order to focus on her role as a mother.

Barrino, who also has a 10-year-old boy named Zion, tells Sister 2 Sister magazine, "Me and Antwaun, as of now, we are not together. I think it's the best thing for us all. We have to learn how to become friends again.

"I wanted to make everyone else happy, to love (Antwaun), to make sure Zion was OK, to make sure everything (was okay) - but I had to get to a place where I had to learn how to love Fantasia. I never did that. And if I don't love myself, then I can't be in a relationship."

Three years ago Barrino was accused of breaking up Cook's marriage with his now-ex-wife Paula, who claimed the singer knowingly pursued a relationship with her then-husband while they were together. The gospel star denied the allegations, insisting the couple didn't start dating until after the Cooks separated in 2009.
