Fallen reggae star Finley Quaye kicked offstage

Nineties reggae star Finley Quaye was kicked offstage at a recent gig in Gloucestershire, England when the show's promoter objected to the singer's awful performance.

The one-time Brit Award winner was 30 minutes into his concert at the Convent Club in Woodchester, when Matt Roberts shut down the show and offered fans a full refund.

The promoter said, "I am so sorry guys, I have worked in the industry 28 years, I have a reputation... I can only say that I am so sorry because the music industry and live music is beautiful... I will not sit here and pollute my venue with bulls**t."

Roberts later revealed Quaye and his band hadn't soundchecked before the gig, while venue insiders tell the Daily Mail newspaper the Sunday Shining singer arrived onstage over an hour late, and reportedly performed with his back to the audience for much of his shortened set.

The singer, who picked up the Best Male Solo Artist prize at the Brits in 1998, failed to capitalize on his break-out success and has become better known for his drug and legal woes in recent years - he was found guilty of aggravated assault in 2012.
