Evan Rachel Wood's pregnancy shock

Actress Evan Rachel Wood had no idea she was expecting her first child when she spoke out to deny pregnancy rumors last November (12).

The Across The Universe star confirmed on Friday (11Jan13) she and her husband Jamie Bell are set to become first-time parents.

The news came just weeks after the actress took to her Twitter.com page and told fans, "Sorry to disappoint. But no baby on the way here," when she was photographed touching her stomach while wearing a baggy blouse.

However, Wood now admits she just didn't know she was pregnant when she wrote the message.

In a post on the social networking website on Friday, she explains, "Remember when I said, 'No baby on the way here'... Well, I didn't know there actually was! Thanks for all your warm wishes. We are very happy. I'm gonna be a mama!"

Wood, who married British actor Bell last October (12), has already begun reading up about motherhood - she also tweeted a photo of her copy of the famous parenting guide, What to Expect When You're Expecting.
