Eva Longoria shocks Los Angeles shoppers with personal styling sessions
Actress Eva Longoria offered surprise styling sessions to lucky shoppers at a California mall on Tuesday (04Oct16).
The Desperate Housewives star recently launched her clothing line From Work to Wine with U.S. retailer The Limited, and to promote the apparel, she made a shock appearance at one of the company's stores at the Glendale Galleria in to help fans pick out cute outfits.
“I really love going into the stores,” she gushes to Women's Wear
Daily of her experience connecting with shoppers at the event.
“It’s my favorite part, seeing the clothes on the mannequins and
styling them in ways I never thought of.”
Fans learned about the evening fashion party after bosses at The
Limited sent out emails to top customers teasing a "Secret Style
Event" and suggested attendees "charge their phones and get ready
for a photo op" in preparation for the occasion.
Although Eva's presence wasn't mentioned directly in the
invitations, throngs of women crowded the store just before the fun
meet-and-greet kicked off at 7pm local time.
“I didn’t realize that many people knew who I was,” the humble
star, who has millions of followers on Instagram and Twitter,
smiled when addressing the large turnout.
Longoria learned a lot by meeting with fans, as many of them
expressed their desire for her to design V-neck t-shirts and
petite-size jeans, and she told the stylish shoppers she will be
incorporating the valuable feedback she received as she starts work
on her fall 2017 From Work to Wine line.
"Everything I’m designing I want to wear now," she says of her
impatience during the design process. "It seems really far away,
but you can’t delay anything in the production process because
fashion is so immediate. Everyone wants it now.”
In addition to clothing, Eva also has a homeware collection with
J.C. Penny, and the Latina entrepreneur is elated she is turning
some of her favorite pastimes into profitable businesses.
“Those are my two loves - fashion and home," she said. "I’m always
sewing and cooking."
