Drake and Future's tour bus targeted in jewellery heist
Millions of dollars' worth of jewellery has been stolen from the tour bus rapper Future shares with Drake.
The hip-hop stars are currently performing for fans on their joint Summer Sixteen Tour, and while they were onstage at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday night (06Sep16), thieves targeted their tour bus.
The culprits snatched a briefcase full of jewellery, estimated to
be worth between $2 million and $3 million, and managed to get away
unnoticed, according to TMZ.com.
Sources tell the website the stolen goods belonged to Ciara's
ex-fiance, but Drake was livid when he learned about the heist, and
video footage of his reaction shows the Hotline Bling hitmaker
lambasting security staff while waving his arms around in
disbelief.
The theft has since been reported to police, who are said to be
reviewing the venue's security footage to try and identify the
suspects.
The Summer Sixteen Tour is expected to continue as planned in Los
Angeles on Wednesday night (07Sep16), when the rap stars will
perform the first of three dates at the Staples Center. Those shows
are sure to be star-studded - the rappers welcomed Lil Wayne and
UGK star Bun B to the stage for a concert in Houston, Texas on
Sunday night (04Sep16), and Drake locked lips with his rumoured
girlfriend Rihanna during a performance in Miami, Florida last week
(ends02Sep16).
Representatives for Drake and Future have yet to comment on the
jewellery heist news.
