Desiigner arrested on drug and weapon charges

Rapper Desiigner was reportedly hit with felony drug and weapons charges following a road rage incident on Thursday night (08Sep16).

The Panda hitmaker, who is signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label, was involved in a road rage incident on Thursday night in New York City, sources tell TMZ.com. The hip-hop star and the other people in his vehicle began screaming at the driver of another car, who called the police and claimed Desiigner, real name Sidney Royel Selby III, pointed a gun at him.

The driver had taken down the licence plate number and police officers later tracked down the car in question. During a search, they reportedly found a large amount of loose pills, including Oxycontin.

Desiigner and four others in the car was arrested and slapped with felony charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of drugs with intent to sell.

The 19-year-old was given an additional felony charge of criminal possession of a loaded weapon and menacing for allegedly brandishing a gun at the other driver.

Video footage obtained by the website reportedly shows the rapper and a pal standing outside the vehicle with both hands placed on its roof as cops stand nearby.
