Actor Dave Franco was honored with the top prize at Australia's GQ Men of the Year Awards on Wednesday (19Nov14).

James Franco's young brother was given the International Man of the Year prize at the Sydney event, which feted standout entertainers and athletes over the past year (14).

The Now You See Me actor tells The Daily Telegraph that he's surprised he was picked for the accolade, admitting, "To be 100 per cent honest, I am still shocked anyone knows who I am, let alone knows who I am across the world.

"It is one of these things where I almost want to just get out of here before they take the award off me before they realize they've made a mistake. It is very flattering. It is insane. What a great reason to come out to Australia for the first time."

Rock band INXS were also on hand to receive the Legend award, while Olympic swimmer Ian Thorpe went home with the Man of Influence prize, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes star Jason Clarke nabbed Actor of the Year, and The Giver's Brenton Thwaites was given Breakthrough Actor.
