Daniel Radcliffe hated using derogatory terms in new movie

Daniel Radcliffe felt the need to apologize to his castmates for using derogatory terms while filming new movie Imperium.

The Harry Potter star plays a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officer who goes undercover with a white supremacist group in the film and he admits he found it difficult to use racist language towards his co-stars.

"Whenever I was using racial slurs and stuff in the film I would have to go up to the actors afterward and be like, 'I'm so sorry'," he told The Daily Show on Monday (15Aug16). "(I said), 'I just, like, have to say it. I know you know that I don't mean this, but I still feel like I have to say it'. We were the most apologetic bunch of skinheads."

Daniel found the process of making the film interesting because he felt it showcased harsh realities of society, and he's very proud of the "fantastic" movie.

"It was a very weird film to make in one way because it was a fantastic experience and it was a great crew," he said. "On the other hand, we are dealing with this very heavy stuff and filming, like, right-wing, white-supremacist rally scenes and we were all wearing T-shirts that said 'white power' on them, and stuff like that is weird and horrible."

Daniel shaved his head for the film and he was relieved he didn't look strange after the drastic cut.

"I had to shave my head, which was on camera, and I was happy to find out I don't have a strangely shaped or marked head in any way."
