Chrissy Teigen vows to avoid pregnancy posts after false twins speculation
Model Chrissy Teigen has sworn off posting updates about her pregnancy online after receiving criticism for sharing a photo of her growing baby bump.
John Legend's wife announced the couple's baby news last week (12Oct15), shortly after going public with her fertility struggles.
Alongside a photo of the singer sweetly touching her stomach,
Chrissy wrote, "John and I are so happy to announce that we are
pregnant. As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for
a while now. It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we
can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our
family.
"We're so excited that it's finally happening. Thank you for all
your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly
touching!"
The mom-to-be posted the first side profile of her bulging belly on
Instagram.com on Sunday (18Oct15) and captioned it, "Somebody is
early to the party", referring to the size of her bump.
However, she was soon regretting the snap after some social media
users began weighing in on the bulge and criticizing her size,
insisting she must be having twins.
Taking to Twitter to shut down the body shamers, Chrissy writes,
"Good thing I am unoffendable (sic) or this would be a rough few
months... I did IVF (in vitro fertilization). One (baby) at a time.
It isn't twins. I can see the damn thing. Get out of my
uterus!"
She later added, "Please stop. I put one embryo in. I have
ultrasounds every few days. I didn't announce at a week... No more
preg (sic) tweeting for me, lesson learned!! Back to food and
reality TV."
